Last day of the holiday and of the centre so it was a case of sail till I drop for me and watch the vultures out for the pickings of a closing centre.

Started on a 6.2 but changed to a 5.8 as the wind was stronger than it looked. Some good jumps and the poppings getting better but I'm most pleased with my tacks and heli-tacks. Psyched myself up for port tack loops but was beaten by the dying wind so called it a day and chilled out by the pool before the evening flight back.

Overall impression of Barbados is that it is one of the friendliest places I have been and I would recommend it to anyone as a holiday destination. Downside was the conditions were too rough for Michelle so the $400 hire was wasted.

Oistins is too gusty for me and I got quite frustrated at times but just standing back to see the turquoise water with the occasional turtle and it's paradise. Silver Sands is excellent but at both places the wind never got to more than 5.8 weather.

The guys at Club Mistral were a great bunch but the mood was naturally tempered by the impending closure. Some of the boards were quite shabby though that was probably due to the closure also.

My advice would be to take your own kit and stay at Silver Sands.
